Description: Youth Volunteers will meet at the beautiful Blake Lake campground/trail head. The crew will hike over a saddle into Emerald Lake carrying daypacks, lunch, water, and tools. All other gear, food, and kitchen will be packed in on mules. We will set up camp on the East side of the lake with excellent views of this remote area of the Hells Canyon/Seven Devils Wilderness. We will day hike to project work on the trails in the area, returning to our camp each night. A camp cook will prepare meals with help from the volunteers. From Boise to Black Lake is about a 4 hour drive, with the last 15 miles being very rough. High clearance vehicles are strongly recommended.
