Last year Idaho Trails Association volunteers constructed two new miles of trail on what will one day be a seventeen mile trail connecting Warm Lake, Tule Lake, Stolle Meadows, a Chinook salmon viewing platform, a historic cabin, and Vulcan Hot Spring. This year we’re back at it! We plan to construct another two and a half miles of trail and touch up on the work that was carried out last season. Volunteers will also have the luxury of staying in Stolle Cabin. Most of the work will be logging out and tread repair. This trail serves both hikers and mountain bikers.

This project is a continuation of the Idaho Trails Association’s first ever trail project. Back in 2010, we maintained the stretch of trail between Duck Lake and Hum Lake. This year we will establish camp at Hum Lake, focusing our efforts on the swtichbacks on the West side of the saddle and portions of long-neglected trail. The elevation climbs will be rewarded with great views of both lakes and surrounding area.

Our volunteers will meet at Thunder Mountain and be packed down to Marble Creek to continue last year’s trail work.
