Shoofly Trail Project – National Public Lands Day

Project Description
Our National Public Lands Day project this year is to maintain approximately 6 miles of trail in the Little Jacks Creek Wilderness. This trail route would provide a new hiking trail opportunity in the wilderness once a few short segments are passible and connect to other existing trails.
Shoofly Creek is located in what is likely the closest designate Wilderness to Boise. This beautiful river canyon flows out of the Little Jacks Creek Wilderness and provides panoramic canyon views throughout the trip. California bighorn sheep and a variety of raptors call this environment home.
This one day project is a great opportunity to visit wilderness in Boise’s backyard and help create trails for future users.
